A-Zoom Action Proving Dummy Round Snap Cap 308 Winchester Aluminum 2 Pack

The A-Zoom Snap Cap is a dummy round for 308 Winchester rifles, used for dry fire practice, function testing, and safety training. It is machined from aluminum and finished in red hard anodizing, which helps identify it as a non-live round.

The cap is listed for 308 Winchester chambers and is sold as a two-pack. Its hard anodized finish is intended to provide smooth cycling, and the retailer text rates it for 3,000 or more dry fire hits.

Snap caps like this allow the firing pin to strike without a live primer. Keeping a firearm stored with the spring relaxed is one use the manufacturer describes for extending spring life.
