The Beretta 92A1 Semi-Auto Pistol uses the same basic design as the standard M9 service pistol, with an added MIL-STD-1913 rail on the frame, just ahead of the trigger guard, for the attachment of aftermarket tactical sights and lights. The dovetailed front and rear sights provide rapid sight acquisition and allow users to change sights if need be. The 92A1 comes with a serrated front and backstrap and a rounded trigger guard. The 92A1utilizes the same short recoil, delayed blowback system as does the battle proven Beretta M9. Built on extremely strong, lightweight, forged aircraft-quality aluminum alloy frames, these semi-automatic pistols feature an open top slide that virtually eliminates jamming and stove piping. A chrome-lined barrel provides extreme corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning. The 92A1 fieldstrips easily without the need of tools, with the disassembly latch staying on the gun and returning to the locked position automatically. The spring-loaded, ambidextrous safety lever doubles as a decocking lever, and the pistol has a hammer drop catch to protect against unintentional hammer drops. A Bruniton non-reflective black coating provides superior corrosion and wear resistance.
