Blitzkrieg Components 9mm Hydraulic Buffer Short Stroke 5.3in Stainless Steel. The RB5020SS buffer provides longer length and more weight for those who desire a short stroke competition action. With a length of 5.3 this buffer will shorten the stroke of the bolt by 1.3 compared to our standard 9mm buffer when installed in a standard AR15 carbine buffer tube1. This is normally a shorter bolt stroke than most AR 9mm builds will function with and is therefore not recommended. When this buffer is installed in an A5/AR10 carbine length buffer tube this buffer will shorten the stroke of the bolt by .55 which can be increased by the addition of spacers2. Using this buffer in an AR10/A5 length carbine buffer tube is the recommended set up. AR15 carbine buffer tubes are 7" long on the inside. A5/AR10 carbine buffer tubes are 7 3/4" long on the inside. The damping level of this buffer is intended for lighter low power factor competition type 9mm ammunition loads for best performance and longest service life. 1This may require a modified bolt in order to properly reset the trigger. 2This method is recommended when using an unmodified bolt in order to ensure a long enough bolt stroke for reliable trigger function. Recommended buffer spring to use with this buffer and a 16" barrel is a JP .308 Rifle Buffer Spring (JPS-OSR-308). If shooting a PCC with a short barrel a lighter spring may be required. 308 Carbine Buffer Springs such as the JP .308 Carbine Buffer Spring (JPS-OSC-308) or Sprinco Orange (SPRINCO-25762) are slightly less powerful and also work well on a lot of builds.
