It has a stainless steel core with steel heads and core and uses a brass licker which is placed in brass sleeves which are attached to steel rings positioned around the counter spring. The sleeves are brass lined and fit into a steel case with stop chain and lanyard. The case is brass pinned and brass riveted. The lanyard is removable.
