BCM designed the system to lessen felt recoil without hurting reliability, keep carrier velocity more consistent, and reduce bolt bounce through increased internal counterweight travel, with an internal spring to quiet the counterweight. Because the MK2 extension is longer, some mil-spec stocks may not collapse all the way to the lock nut.The BCM Mod 3 StockThe BCM Mod 3 is BCM's minimalist, snag-free stock. It weighs about 6.4 oz, uses a double-walled (H-beam) construction for durability, and has a removable diamond-textured non-slip buttpad, non-slip side panels, horizontal and vertical web sling points, and an ergonomic adjustment lever with tool-less installation. The furniture on this lower is Flat Dark Earth on a black anodized receiver.Setup and CareFitting an upper takes only the two takedown pins: line up the upper, push in the front pivot pin, then the rear takedown pin. Before the first range trip, do a function check of the safety selector and trigger reset, then put a light coat of lubricant on the fire control group and the buffer. When you clean the upper, wipe down the buffer and spring and check that the lock nut and end plate are still tight.
