The BRN-16A1 complete upper receiver is designed to replicate the features of the late 1960s U. S. M16A1 rifles. The muzzle is equipped with the classic A1 flash hider, featuring radial ports and secured by a split washer. This flash hider is affixed to a lightweight 20 inches barrel, consistent with AR-15 variants up to the M16A1. For optimal performance with 62 grain or heavier ammunition, select a 1:7 twist rate. The front sight base is not F-marked, ensuring alignment of the round, tapered front sight post with the carry handle rear sight. The black triangle handguards are crafted to closely resemble the original M16A1 handguards. A flat slip ring is positioned at the end of the 5.56x45mm barrel assembly. The upper receiver includes a correctly designed ejection-port cover with a flat external bump, distinct from standard A2 models. The receiver itself adheres to the M16A1 style, featuring a forward assist but lacking a shell deflector. The rear sight is the standard A1 aperture, adjustable with a cartridge or tool. The included Bolt carrier group is a manganese phosphate mil-spec BCG with a chrome-lined interior.
