The Browning X-Bolt 2 Medallion Carbon Fiber Bolt-Action Rifle combines Browning's time-proven gun-making expertise with a modern carbon-wrapped stainless steel barrel to create the ultimate hunting rifle. Like all X-Bolts, the X-Bolt 2 Medallion starts with a steel receiver that's glass-bedded within the walnut stock. Glass bedding is an extremely intensive and time-consuming process, but it produces a true free-floated barrel that delivers consistent accuracy without interference from unnecessary contact points. But the standout feature is the Preferred Barrel Blanks carbon fiber-wrapped stainless barrel. Each barrel begins as a blank that is precision-bored button-rifled before being stress-relieved. The barrel uses a stronger, stiffer carbon fiber wrapping process rather than the simple carbon fiber sleeve found on less-expensive rifles. Functionally, the action has been upgraded with additional bolt guidance surface for smoother cycling; the spiral-fluted bolt has also been reworked and fitted with an improved handle and bolt knob. Completing the package is the DLX 3-lever trigger that offers zero creep, zero take-up, and zero overtravel. The DLX trigger comes pre-set from the factory at 3.5 lbs., and is adjustable down to 3 lbs. Other features include a short 60 bolt lift for optics clearance, X-Lock Scope Mounting System, and 1.25" Inflex recoil pad.
