Colt ~ 1st Gen ~ Single Action Army ″Civilian″ ~ .38 WCF ~ 1893 Production

This is a 1st Gen Colt Single Action Army "civilian" revolver chambered in 38 WCF with a 4.75" barrel. This example was shipped to Montgomery Wards in Chicago, Illinois on November 25, 1893. The left side of the frame is marked "PAT SEPT 19 1871, JULY 2 72, JAN 19 75" with a circled rampant Colt logo. The bottom of the frame and the bottom of the trigger guard at the front are both marked "154250". The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT FA MFG HARTFORD CT USA" with 38 WCF on the left side. The loading gate is marked "186". The butt of the grip is marked with serial number "154 / 250". The cylinder is unmarked. The front sight is a quarter round blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a V groove cut into the top of the frame. The grips are two-piece checkered black hard rubber with rampant colt in oval at the top of each panel. This gun comes with a Colt provenance paper.
