J.C. Higgins 583.2 16 Gauge 26" Shotgun

J.C. Higgins Model 583.2 bolt-action 16-gauge shotgun, historically marketed and distributed exclusively through Sears, Roebuck & Co. department stores. Sears did not manufacture firearms directly; instead, they contracted production to established firearms companies under their house brand names. The 583.x factory model prefix confirms that this repeating bolt-action shotgun line was designed and manufactured by the High Standard Manufacturing Company. Under High Standard's production catalog, the explicit 583.2 designation specifically isolates the 16-gauge variant built during its inaugural production year of 1946.
