The Remington Model 740 Woodsmaster Rifle in .30-06 Springfield with a 22-inch Barrel is a vintage, gas-operated semi-automatic hunting rifle manufactured from 1955 to 1959. Designed to give big-game hunters rapid follow-up shots, it features a detachable box magazine and a solid steel receiver. It was later succeeded by the improved Models 742 and 7400.
