Both firearms feature single bead sight on the smooth concave game rib with doll's head extension which is marked "WILLIAM POWELL & SON, 35 CARRS LANE, BIRMINGHAM." along with a gold inlaid "1" or "2" in a flourish of scrollwork, Birmingham proof marks, and chambers marked 2 1/2 inches with South Gate ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened sidelock bar-action which displays expertly cut classic English bouquet and scroll engraving surrounding "WILLIAM POWELL & SON" on either lockplate and gold "1" or "2" on the toplever. Both feature a third bite, intercepting sears, double triggers, and tang mounted automatic safety with "SAFE"in gold.
