Description
The Christensen Arms Model 14 chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum is a premium, lightweight, high-performance hunting rifle built around a modified Remington 700 footprint. While Christensen Arms standardizes its long-action magnum builds (like the popular Ridgeline and Mesa sub-models) with 24-inch or 26-inch barrels to optimize powder efficiency, a 25-inch footprint represents a custom or specialized variant that maximizes velocity for extreme long-range large game hunting. The defining element of a Christensen rifle is its 416R stainless steel match barrel wrapped in aerospace-grade carbon fiber. This offers the stiffness and heat dissipation of a heavy target-contour steel barrel at a fraction of the weight, eliminating the barrel flex that ruins accuracy during rapid string. Machined from high-strength billet steel or titanium, the receiver features an enlarged ejection port, a skeletonized bolt handle, and a spiral-fluted bolt. The fluting sheds weight and acts as a channel to clear dirt, ice, or debris when hunting in extreme weather. Typically paired out of the box with a crisp TriggerTech match trigger, providing user-adjustable pull weights generally ranging from 1.5 to 4 pounds. It features an exceptionally short reset, drastically minimizing the potential for human error or shooter "flinch."
