The Cold Steel G.I. Tanto is a fixed blade tactical knife built around a broad Tanto point blade and an integral quillion guard. It is designed for general utility, survival, and self-defense use.
The blade is made from 1055 carbon steel with a hard spring temper and finished in a black, rust resistant coating. The handle is polypropylene. The knife has an overall length of 12 inches and weighs 12 ounces.
Its mass and balance make it suitable for throwing by either the blade or the handle. The handle scales can be removed so the blade can be lashed to a wooden shaft to form a spear.
