Colt Police Positive Special 32 Colt New Police 6-Round Revolver (1951)

The Colt Police Positive is a small‑frame double‑action revolver produced by Colt from 1907 to 1947 and known for its "Positive Lock" internal safety system. Introduced in 1905 and produced through 1947, the Colt Police Positive was designed primarily for law‑enforcement use. It features a six‑shot cylinder, clockwise rotation, and Colt's Positive Lock hammer‑block safety, which allowed safe carry with all chambers loaded. The model evolved to the Police Positive Special, introduced in 1908 with a lengthened cylinder. This example is from 1951. The Colt Police Positive remains a significant early‑20th‑century law‑enforcement revolver valued today for its historical importance, mechanical quality, and role in Colt's D‑frame lineage. This example is still in good shape and shows normal wear.
