The Colt Vest Pocket Auto 1908, is the second iteration of John Browning's development of the Browning 1906. It is somewhat smaller than the 1906, and to prevent competition between the two, the 1906 was built in Europe for the continentals. The Pistols are the beginning of what we now know as "mouse guns." they were developed to fit in a gentleman's vest, a part of the three-piece suit. This meant tiny. Browning even had to develop a cartridge to load it as the .22 Rimfire was reliable enough. They are striker fired and were built with three safeties; a manual safety, the grip safety, and in interlock to prevent firing without magazine installed. Own a piece of firearm histoy with this one. The blue is very good, case color on the trigger is good, and there is no rust. The grip scales are intact with no cracks. YOM: 1925
