A black painted synthetic stock was also included to provide a rock-solid foundation to the heavy barrel and action and offers an ergonomic palm swell and raised cheek piece for superior ergonomics and shooter comfort. The stock's fore-end is considerably wide perfect for riding sandbags and dual QD swivels at the front allow both a bipod and sling to be used. The 457 ProVarmint's bolt features a 60-degree throw this was chosen to increase scope compatibility especially on scopes with a larger ocular bell and lower ring heights. Under the recommendation of US Hunter's Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches the 457 ProVarmint is outfitted with an American-style push-to-fire safety - a configuration that American shooters are more accustomed to.
