The Daniel Defense DDM4 V7S is a purpose-built 11.5-inch AR-15 short barreled rifle (SBR) engineered for shooters who require maximum maneuverability without sacrificing reliability or accuracy. Manufactured by Daniel Defense, the V7S represents a compact evolution of the proven DDM4 platform-delivering the performance expected from a duty-grade rifle in a configuration ideal for close-quarters environments, vehicle operations, and suppressed setups. At the core of the V7S is an 11.5-inch cold hammer forged barrel made from Chrome Moly Vanadium steel. Known for exceptional durability and barrel life, Daniel Defense's hammer forging process produces ultra-consistent rifling while maintaining structural strength even during demanding firing schedules. The barrel features a 1:7 twist rate, chrome lining, and HP/MPI testing to ensure reliability and accuracy across a wide range of 5.56 NATO ammunition. Surrounding the barrel is the MFR 10.0 M-LOK free-floating handguard, offering a lightweight yet rigid mounting platform for optics, lights, lasers, and other mission-critical accessories. With seven rows of M-LOK attachment points and a continuous 1913 Picatinny rail, the rifle provides extensive customization potential while maintaining a streamlined profile. The 11.5-inch barrel configuration strikes an effective balance between compact size and ballistic performance. This length maintains reliable gas system function while preserving strong terminal ballistics with modern 5.56 loads-making it a preferred choice among professional users and experienced shooters. A carbine-length direct impingement gas system works with an H buffer to deliver smooth cycling and controlled recoil impulse. The system is anchored by a pinned low-profile gas block made from hardened 4140 steel, ensuring long-term reliability even under harsh use conditions. The rifle also incorporates Daniel Defense's GRIP-N-RIP ambidextrous charging handle, designed for aggressive manipulation and reliable operation from either side of the rifle. Both the upper and lower receivers are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished with Type III hard coat anodizing. The lower receiver features an enhanced flared magazine well for faster reloads and an integrated QD sling swivel attachment point for modern sling configurations. Ergonomics are equally refined.
