The third spring which is contained within the recoil rod controls the movement of the slide so it never rams on the frame. Within the kit are included 4 different in length and strength external springs, for the 2 gold coated springs their wire diameter is 1.0mm and are softer during the slide travel than the 2 silver coated springs with wire diameter 1.1mm.
