For your consideration, the Enfield No. 5 Mk 1 bolt-action rifle chambered in .303 British. Nicknamed the "Jungle Carbine" the No. 5 Mk 1 was a wartime adaptation for fighting in the Pacific theater. Multiple changes were made to reduce weight and overall length, noticably shortening the barrel from 25 to 18.75 inches. This model was manufactured by British Small Arms Company (BSA) in 1945.
