EGW Guns Scope Base Features The EGW Guns Scope Base is machined by EGW in-house from domestic 6061-T6 extruded aluminum then tumbled sand blasted and Type II anodized for long lasting durability. Designed as a one-piece Picatinny rail the base fits the Henry Big Boy Gen 2 and Henry Big Boy Steel Gen 2 rifles though it is not compatible with the Henry Golden Boy. Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail giving the shooter flexibility when positioning scope rings or other accessories for proper eye relief. The center channel design reduces the overall mass of the mount and in many cases will not obstruct use of the factory iron sights. At 4.306 inches in overall length and weighing only 2 ounces the base adds minimal bulk or weight to the rifle while still providing a secure mounting platform. The mount is ambidextrous and finished in a matte black anodized coating for durability and a clean appearance that matches the rifle s existing finish. Mounting hardware including number 8-40 by 1/4 inch screws and a T-10 bit ships included to simplify installation. EGW recommends torquing the screws to 20 inch pounds with a drop of blue Loctite giving Henry Big Boy owners a reliable path to mounting a scope on their lever action rifle.
