Faxon Firearms Type 1 Nitrided Bolt Carrier Black. 62x39 Type 1 Bolt (.125) Nitride is a premium replacement bolt for AR-15 rifles chambered in 7.62x39. Treating ''MIL-SPEC'' as the baseline Faxon enhances material selection inspection and finishing to deliver a bolt built for reliability and long service life. Each bolt is machined from 9310 tool steel fully heat-treated shot-peened and Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI) to help ensure material integrity. The bolt receives a salt bath nitride treatment to increase surface hardness reduce friction and provide superior corrosion resistance compared to traditional chrome or phosphate finishes. Bolt lugs are chamfered to promote smooth reliable cycling - even with higher-pressure loads and fast actions. The extractor is manufactured from S7 tool steel and assembled with a spring silicone insert and ''Crane'' O-ring to support consistent extraction. Note: This is a Type 1 (.125) 7.62x39 bolt and is not compatible with Faxon 6.5 Grendel barrels.
