Federal Premium Vital-Shok TruBall Deep Penetrator 12 Gauge 2-3/4" 1 oz Rifled Slug 5 Rounds

The Federal Premium Vital-Shok TruBall Deep Penetrator is a 12 gauge, 2-3/4 inch shotgun shell loaded with a 438 grain hollow point rifled slug, intended for hunting big game. It is designed for smooth bore shotgun barrels, using a TruBall system in which a plastic ball sits between the wad and slug to center the slug and improve accuracy.

The load has a muzzle velocity of 1350 fps. The slug uses a higher antimony lead alloy, which the product description links to better terminal performance on hogs and bears. Manufacturer claims cite groups as tight as 1.4 inches at 50 yards. Components are said to separate cleanly after leaving the muzzle.

Each box contains 5 rounds, and each case holds 50 boxes. The shells can also be fired in rifled choke tube barrels or fully rifled barrels.
