It features a 440 C stainless steel double ground blade with thumb-stud opener. This kit features all of the necessary parts to complete this knife and is a great knife making project for beginner to intermediate knife makers.
Blade Steel: 440C Stainless Steel (heat-treated to RC 56-58) | The 440C stainless steel blade on the GL66 knife kit is heat treated to RC 56-58 and will hold a fine working edge. This kit comes with specialized nylon washers that create an unsurpassed blade opening and closing action. In the open or closed position, the blade feels firm and secure.
Blade Finish: Satin | Blade Length: 2.75 Inches | This is an excellent design for filework training, liner fileworking test treatments, and for overlay experimentation. Because of this project's simplicity, the GL66 is also a great pocket knife kit for beginners, requiring no modification to produce a great pocket knife.
