Description
The Fortis Lightweight Enhanced K1 Tapered End Plate System is a black, 7075 T6 aircraft aluminum castle nut and end plate set for the AR-15 buffer tube. It is designed to keep the castle nut from backing out by using a tapered nut that seats and seals itself onto the end plate, without staking or set screws.
The complete assembly weighs 0.59 oz (16.8 grams). Installation requires no torque wrench for hand-tight seating: tighten about 1/4 turn past hand tight. If a torque wrench is used, the manufacturer's note specifies 15 to 20 ft-lbs, which is less than typical castle nut torque values.
The system fits the AR-15 buffer tube and is sold in black finish.
