Fortis Manufacturing Switch Handguard Features The Fortis Switch handguard is built from aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum with a 7075-T6 aluminum locking handle that operates the rail s patent-pending tool-less locking mechanism. This design lets a shooter quickly remove and swap the rail without needing a wrench or armorer s tool a major advantage for anyone who switches between mission or competition-specific configurations. At 15.75 inches long with a 1.34 inch internal diameter the Switch is sized to fit DPMS High Profile .308 pattern AR-10 rifles. Open venting at the 12 o clock position allows heat generated during sustained firing to escape rather than building up inside the handguard.
