The Forward Controls Design ACF was designed with two main objectives in mind.A stronger, more durable ambidextrous charging handle that can withstand repeated abuse such as mortaring.A better means of deflecting gas and debris from the shooter's face when shooting with a suppressor.The width of the T handle is slightly wider than TDP spec charging handles to provide protection to the latches. A slight rearward slope of the T handle is less snag prone than a forward cant. The ACF is significantly taller/thicker than the TDP design. Both the front strap and the curved back strap of the ACF are aggressively serrated. In the event that the shooter needs to "mortar" their weapon to clear a malfunction, "Constant Motion" latches on both sides of the T handle allow the latches to continue to move in the T handle instead of coming to a hard stop. This ensures no excessive stress is placed on the latches or latch pins. The ACF's fence is taller than the upper receiver, and is horse shoe shaped to conform to the area of the upper where it meets the charging handle to help with gas diversion.NOTE:ACF is not compatible with SIG MCX, Centurion Arms billet upper, and SB Tactical HBPDW brace.
