Francotte Game Gun in 20 Gauge. This shotgun has 26-1/4 inch demi-block O/U barrels with narrow matted solid rib. It is engraved "Francotte's Arms Leige" "Made in Belgium" on top barrel to the left of rib. Bottom barrel is stamped with 1948 Belgian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers. Crowned "AF" mark is on bottom of barrel along with S#. Case hardened boxlock action with squared double Kirsten bolt and double under lugs features automatic safety ("S" in gold), reinforced action and double triggers. Action is engraved with about 50% coverage simple scroll with line and feather borders. Fences are engraved with acanthus. Floorplate is engraved "Made in Belgium". Steel trigger guard has S# on tang. Round knob pistol grip buttstock made of lightly streaked and figured European walnut measures 14-5/8" over black Decelerator pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Three piece ejector forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O .641. U .636. Restriction: O .028 (full). U .018 (mod). Barrels retaining over 90% original blue; show high edge wear. Action retains over 80% original case hardening color; silvering around bottom and on fences. Most original blue remains on top lever and trigger guard. Thumb piece silvered and trigger guard tang is completely silvered to gray. Stocks retain nearly all their original finish with some light marks; perhaps with some added oil. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight. Mechanically fine. No box.
