Description
The Geissele URG-I Airborne Charging Handle is an ambidextrous charging handle for the AR-15 platform, chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO. It was originally developed at the request of an elite aerial insertion organization and has been adopted by USASOC.
The handle is 3D machined from a solid block of 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in Type-3 hardcoat anodized in black. It weighs 1.42 ounces. The lever design sits low in profile to reduce snagging on gear, and the handling surfaces are checkered for secure operation while wearing gloves. A gas mitigating fence at the rear helps redirect gas blowback when used with short-barreled and suppressed weapons.
