Description
The SUP (universal self-loading pistol) was originally designed with the American market in mind but has gained worldwide recognition for its precision and exceptional reliability. Drawing heavily from features favored by us law enforcement and military personnel, the SUP incorporates uniquely American controls influenced by iconic designs like the Government model 1911 pistol. The use of polymer materials in handgun production was pioneered by HK over 30 years ago with the VP70Z and P9S pistols, featuring a fiber-reinforced polymer frame strengthened by stainless steel inserts in stress-prone areas. Notably, the Up's control lever, functioning as both a safety and decoking lever, is conveniently frame-mounted for rapid access, distinguishing it from the slide-mounted safeties commonly found in many semi-automatic pistols. Equipped with a modified Browning-type action and a patented recoil reduction system, the SUP effectively mitigates recoil impacts on pistol components and minimizes perceived recoil forces experienced by the shooter. This system's reliability has been thoroughly tested and validated through the HK mark 23 pistol designed for the U.S. Special operations Command. It remains resilient to ammunition variations, requiring no specialized adjustments or maintenance, and operates seamlessly across all SUP models. The Up's modular internal component design allows flexibility by enabling the control lever function to shift from left to right, accommodating left-handed shooters. Additionally, the SUP can be configured for various trigger firing modes, including double action and single action (DA/SA) as well as double action-only (DAO) modes.
