The Henry Brass Side Gate is a lever action rifle chambered in .30-30 Winchester, a cartridge long associated with deer hunting. It has a hardened brass receiver and a side loading gate that allows the five-round tubular magazine to be topped off without lowering the rifle from the shoulder.

The rifle has a 20-inch octagon barrel and an overall length of 39 inches, with a total weight of 8.3 pounds. Its sights are a brass bead front and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear. The walnut stock is paired with a blued steel barrel, and the rifle is made for right-handed shooters.
