The Henry Long Ranger Wildlife Edition Antelope Lever-Action Rifle is a premium version of the already-excellent Long Ranger with special engraving that frames 24K gold-inlaid depictions of an antelope on both receiver flats. Like the original Long Ranger, the Wildlife Edition greatly extends the effective range of traditional lever guns by using a 6-lug rotating bolt head, box magazine, and side ejection port that readily accommodates modern, high-pressure cartridges. The Long Ranger offers the look and feel of a traditional American lever-action, though its design is modern throughout. The machined, chromed-steel bolt assembly uses teeth that mesh with the geared action to cycle cartridges smoothly from the detachable box mag. The trigger and fire control parts are fixed in the receiver and do not move with the lever, and a transfer bar safety eliminates the need for a manual safety allowing the rifle to be carried safely with a loaded chamber and the hammer down. The top of the aircraft-grade aluminum alloy receiver is drilled and tapped and comes fitted with threaded steel grommets to accept scope-base screws (base included). The Long Ranger comes equipped with an oil-finished, American walnut stock. The grip area and forend feature wrap-around checkering. A black rubber recoil pad helps absorb shock and keeps the butt planted on your shoulder.
