Honshu Boshin Katana. The broad heavy blade is crafted from 1065 carbon steel and the Shinogimono handle is crafted from premium black ironwood. The Shinogimono wood is an antique finish mirrors the character and culture of the swords and the high quality of the steel used. The furniture consists of two pieces of black ironwood with a black iron handle and pairs of double-bladed ray skin. The Tsuba-shaped blade has a deeply curved (katana style) guard surrounded by black ironwood sori with a slight hollowing effect. The saya is lacquered black to provide a sophisticated elegance. The fittings are simple but ornate brass and the saya is double-edged. The blade is highly polished to a bright finish and opens easily with one hand. A black lacquer wood fittings is included to enhance the look of the katana. One year limited warranty included with full manufacturer's defects.
