Description
The Hornady Sub-X is a 410 grain .458-diameter reloading bullet designed for hunting with subsonic loads. It uses a lead core within a brass jacket and a polymer tip, and is built to expand reliably at low velocities.
Long grooves in the jacket, combined with a flat profile and the patented FlexTip insert in the hollow-point cavity, are intended to promote expansion. The bullet is designed to expand at velocities down to 900 fps and is reported to meet or exceed FBI Protocol terminal ballistic test requirements.
The bullet carries a cannelure for a positive case crimp in semi-automatic firearms. Its design is intended to fit, feed, and function in a variety of firearms, including gas-system guns. The package contains 50 bullets.
