Hornady Lead Round Ball .44 Cal .454" 100 Count

The Hornady Lead Round Ball in .44 caliber is a pure lead projectile for black powder shooting that?s sized at .454" and packed 100 to a box. It loads in cap-and-ball revolvers and muzzleloaders bored for a .44 ball. Its standout strength comes from cold swaging. That process forms each ball to near-perfect uniformity, so you get consistent seating and repeatable accuracy round after round. That .454" diameter is what you want for most .44 cap-and-ball revolvers, where the ball runs slightly oversized and shaves a thin lead ring as you seat it over the powder charge. This tight fit seals the chamber and keeps pressure and velocity steady from shot to shot. You seat each ball with the loading lever until it rests firmly on the charge, leaving no air gap between the ball and the powder. The same balls work in .44 caliber muzzleloaders bored for a .454" round ball, which makes a single box useful across more than one black powder gun on the bench.Pure lead matters here. The soft 100% lead deforms the way black powder shooting expects, it seats without cracking, and it grips the rifling for clean, predictable flight downrange. Hornady makes these round balls to strict specifications and prices them for high-volume range days, so you can practice and develop loads without burning through your budget. Their projectiles carry a reputation for quality with law enforcement, military, hunters, competitive shooters, and target shooters.Product SpecificationsCaliber: .44 calDiameter: .454"Material: 100% pure leadCount: 100 per boxManufacturing: cold swaged for near-perfect uniformityLead free: NoBrand: HornadyItem number (SKU): HO6070Manufacturer product : 6070UPC: 090255260700For black powder shooters, this is a dependable box to keep on hand for range sessions and load development.
