The Hornady ELD Match is a 285 grain, 338 caliber reloading bullet designed for long-range precision shooting in 338 Lapua Magnum. It uses a copper jacket over a lead core and a polymer tip, shaped as an extremely low drag match profile.
The bullet features a heat resistant polymer tip, which Hornady developed to keep its shape in flight rather than melting or deforming under aerodynamic heating. This is intended to help preserve ballistic coefficient and accuracy at extended ranges, and the streamlined secant ogive and boattail are part of the same low drag design.
