Joseph Lang & Sons, Damascus 12Ga SXS. Overall condition is very good. Nice patina on damascus barrel. Wood has small dings from usage. This gun was made in 1868, the year that Joseph Lang senior died. It is a remarkable and important gun as it is the earliest top-lever Lang breechloader I have seen in 14 years of recording their guns. It is unusual as they chose to use a fish-tail style lever to avoid hitting the hammers. They only used these crooked levers for 1868 and 1869. It is also particularly nice as it is of a 'bar-in-wood' construction, is normally a 'best' gun. The firm only used damascus barrels for their high-end guns.
