Kershaw Leek Assisted Folding Knife 3in 14C28N Drop Point Blade 410 Stainless Steel Handle Box. For those that don't know the name "Leek" is derived from the German word for "shield" and is an abbreviation for "lightweight quick opening knife". It is a general purpose utility knife that is small enough to be carried in a pocket and yet big enough to perform a wide range of cutting tasks. The SpeedSafe assisted opening system provides easy ambidextrous opening and closing of the blade. Lefties can pull the blade protrusion out with their thumb and the righties can pull back the same protrusion and the blade is quickly ready to go to work. SpeedSafe allows ambidextrous opening of the blade at work and a right- or left-handed grip on the knife when using it for unintended purposes. The frame lock keeps the blade locked during use and a Tip-Lock slider locks the blade closed when folded. The handle is drilled for a lanyard if desired. There is a reversible pocketclip included so you can carry this folding knife however you see fit. There is a slim modified drop-point blade makes the Leek a handy tool for small tasks. There is a little lanyard hole for attachment if desired. For now there is only one SpeedSafe-equipped knife in this series: the popular 1660.
