In general, Gun Kote was developed mainly for use by the United States Navy Seals. After a series of tests, this thin hard coating was able to withstand over 500 hours of salt spray tests and still meet all military requirements. Today, Gun Kote is used in the shooting sports industry to help protect against corrosion and also to add a unique color to firearms.The 2400 Series can withstand temperatures over 500 degrees F and as low as -320 degrees F. It can be applied to all ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as plastic. It's also abrasion resistant and has extremely high heat dissipation. Can also be used on magazines. Make sure to strip and clean any parts that Gun Kote will be applied to. Never use glass bead for blasting. Cleans up with Acetone or MEK.
