When the Lee Deluxe Quick Trim Case Trimmer is used with this Lee Precision Quick Trim Pistol Reloading Die the pilot is held in place by the pilot and lock collar and the trimming die is simply pushed or pulled from the bottom of the case until the pilot and lock collar are completely removed. As a result the case mouths are chamfered on the pistol caliber instead of being chamfered on the rifle caliber. This is to preserve the thin neck wall of the cartridge case.
