Lee Double Cavity Mold .457 Ball W/Handles. Many people mistakenly believed that molds were cast when in fact they were hand molded. This brings us full circle as the Lee Round Ball Mould (Double Cavity) was cast in an original mold probably one of the first produced by the company. However the quality of the molds that followed were actually made from iron or steel. Rather than cast our famous round ball in a mold made from steel or cast in iron we decided to make our own mold. This mold has two cavities so the sprue plate is cam operated but a separate sprue plate is provided. This allows the caster to sit more freely in the mold thereby helping eliminate any runner or jump that may be created with a typical cast round ball. In addition to the sprue plates this mold also comes with cast-in handles. Also included with the mould is an alignment pin ensuring that the sprue pin does not slide out of the mold under any circumstance.
