Description
The LMT L129A1, as contracted by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, represents the closest civilian approximation to the military Rifle System provided to the UK. This system features the LMT patented monolithic modular weapon system (MWS ), which is the only true monolithic Rail Platform, crafted from a single solid piece of aerospace-grade aluminum forging. The design incorporates two side-accessible locking bolts on the receiver securing the barrel extension with a full 360 degree engagement. This patented mechanism allows for rapid barrel removal and reinstallation, ensuring a consistent return to zero. The receiver is compatible with multiple barrels of varying lengths, materials and calibers. The CQBMWS upper receiver is equipped with a 19-1/4 inches uninterrupted picatinny rail at the 12 o'clock position, complemented by 9 inches rails at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions and a 7 inches rail at the 6 o'clock position. MWS barrels a redesigned with a low-profile gas block and a straight gas tube, featuring a proprietary coating and cryogenic treatment to enhance long-term durability. The LM308MWS lower receiver includes an EDM-machined two-stage trigger, ambidextrous magazine release and safety selector, an endplate with a QD swivel point, an LMT ergonomic textured grip and a SOPMOD stock. Consistent with all LMT lower receivers, the extension tube is treated with a dry film lubricant. The weapon system is supplied with one magazine, an owner's manual, flip-up front and rear sights, two heavy-duty push-button swivels and three rail panels.
