The Forward Assist is machined from forn steel with a phosphate coating in a whorled state for a smooth front activation. The force required to trigger the forward assist is only slightly less than the force required to take a normal trigger pull so it won't catch on the clothing. After the trigger is pushed it won't bounce back up and down or off the face of the stock. This makes it a great choice for those who want to hand-install the forward assist themselves.
