Steyr Mannlicher Model 1908 8x56mm Rifle

This Steyr Mannlicher Model 1908 chambered in 8x56mm is a classic early 20th-century sporting rifle featuring the renowned Mannlicher-style stock and rotary magazine system. Serial number 5719. The rifle appears to be in good vintage condition with a well-preserved wood stock showing handling and finish wear consistent with age, along with light cosmetic wear on the metal surfaces. The rifle retains its distinctive European sporting profile. Manufactured by Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft (later Steyr-Mannlicher), the Model 1908 was one of the company's premier sporting rifles, combining Ferdinand Mannlicher's innovative rotary magazine design with Austrian craftsmanship. Exact manufacture dates for individual serial numbers are difficult to confirm without a factory records search, but serial number 5719 is believed to date from the early production period, likely around 1908-1912.
