Description
The Mauser Modelo Argentino 1891 was originally produced in Germany by Ludwig Loewe & Co. (and later DWM) as a primary military arms contract for Argentina that has been historically modified or "sporterized" firearm. During the mid-20th century, surplus retailers (such as Montgomery Ward) and individual gunsmiths bought thousands of these long military rifles and cut the barrels down to a handier 22-inch length to turn them into lightweight hunting rifles.
