Maxim Defense Industries SBA Short Barrel Ammunition 8.6 Blackout 235 Grain 20-Rounds SCS

Maxim Defense Industries SBA Short Barrel Ammunition Features Maxim Defense SBA Short Barrel Ammunition is built around a Solid Copper Spun projectile a lead-free design that maintains structural integrity while still delivering the terminal performance hunters expect from a premium hunting round. The patented Tumble Upon Impact technology is engineered to penetrate hard barriers such as bone before the projectile begins to rapidly tumble within soft tissue creating a wound cavity that exceeds the standards of both expanding and fragmenting projectile designs. This tumbling action continues effectively down to velocities as low as 500 fps meaning the round retains its terminal effectiveness even as it slows during penetration. Loaded to a muzzle velocity of 1600 fps in the 8.6 Blackout chambering this ammunition is specifically tuned for short-barrel rifle platforms. Today s short barrel rifles excel in close-quarter encounters but have historically lacked the velocities and terminal ballistics that longer barrels provide a gap Maxim Defense set out to close by partnering with Fort Scott Munitions on this load. By optimizing the ammunition specifically for SBRs and pairing that work with the TUI projectile technology Maxim Defense built a round that closes much of that performance gap without requiring a longer barrel. At 235 grains the bullet carries enough mass to maintain energy and penetration depth through demanding hunting scenarios.
