The Mec-Gar Optimum is an 18-round steel magazine for the Beretta 92 family of 9mm Luger pistols, including the 92FS and M9. It is finished in black with an anti-friction coating intended to help the magazine feed smoothly.
Mec-Gar magazines use high tensile strength spring wire with reinforced coils and stiffening folds to increase thrust force. The steel body is made from certified AISI 1010 carbon steel, and the base is either a fiber-fill nylon or heat-treated steel design intended to withstand drop and slap testing.
