This scope base raises the scope 1.5" above the rail allowing you a variety of optics that will clear your rail including scopes with a 56mm objective lens. The forward offset mount gives the shooter the proper eye relief specifically on AR platform rifles. A one-piece locking clamp bar will hold the mount securely on the rail and will not loosen or shift under heavy use or recoil.
