Description
The Midwest Industries Upper Receiver Action Rod is a gunsmithing tool for AR-10 platform upper receivers in .308 Winchester. It is intended for installing and removing barrel nuts, including seized ones, and for installing muzzle devices and the forward assist or port door cover.
The rod is machined from 4140 steel with a black oxide finish. It is designed to fit forged and billet AR-10 upper receivers and to work with LR-308 and AR-308 barrel extensions. Per the manufacturer, it will not mar the exterior of the upper and receiver-mounted sights can be left installed. It can be used horizontally or vertically in a bench vise.
The tool is not compatible with DPMS G2 .308 or Daniel Defense AR-10 style rifles.
