Izhevsk Model 1891/59 Carbine 7.62x54R Bolt Action Rifle

Manufactured at the historic Izhevsk Arsenal during the Soviet interwar period and later updated for Cold War service, this Model 1891/59 carbine is an exceptional piece of military surplus history. Originally built as a standard long rifle with a crisp hammer-and-sickle state crest, it was officially selected for the specialized carbine modernization program. Arsenal modifications include a significantly shortened barrel configuration and a unique, modified rear sight leaf where the long-range distance markings were factory-milled away. Bearing the prominent model stamp on the barrel shank alongside original factory proofs, this combat-proven piece exhibits a bent front sight post from its extended service life. For shooters and collectors, the bore remains semi-bright with deep, strong rifling, making this distinctive Cold War veteran an outstanding addition to any military surplus collection.
