Proof Research PXT AR-15 Barrel .223 Wylde 16" 1:8 Twist

Proof Research AR-15 Barrel Features The Proof Research PXT AR Barrel uses Proof Exponential Twist technology a complete rethinking of conventional rifling design that reduces the lead angle and smooths projectile engagement into the bore. This approach lowers engraving force on the bullet and reduces throat erosion over time which in controlled testing has translated into significant increases in barrel life while maintaining Proof s expected accuracy standards. The 1 in 8 inch twist rate stabilizes a wide range of .223 Wylde and 5.56 projectile weights giving builders flexibility in ammunition selection. Reduced felt torque during firing also improves recoil control helping shooters stay on target more effectively between shots. Machined from stainless steel with a .750 inch gas journal and a .093 inch port size this 16 inch barrel uses an intermediate length gas system suited to common AR-15 platform builds. The 5/8x24 thread pattern accepts a wide range of muzzle devices and suppressors already common in that caliber class. Arriving fully chambered and ready for installation this barrel is designed as a straightforward upgrade for shooters building or refining a high-performance rifle system. At approximately 2 pounds 10 ounces the Proof Research PXT AR Barrel gives builders a precision durable option for their next rifle project.
